This bright & spacious ground floor apartment on the Sandclub complex is just a short drive from Tenerife South airport, so you can be in the apartment within an hour of landing! The owners send you the key in advance. Golf Del Sur Tenerife is an ideal location for a winter golf break holiday. The apartment is located across from the Golf Del Sur course, it is a great base from which to explore Tenerife &or have a week or 2 by the pool chilling out. It is just a short walk to many bars & restaurants of Golf Del Sur. The Sand Club is a lo-rise holiday apartment complex in traditional white with terracotta roofs, it has a free form swimming pool with a children's splash pool. There are spacious sun bathing terraces by the pool that that have views out to the sea & add to the pleasant atmosphere of the complex. Golf Del Sur
The Golf Del Sur resort surrounds the international PGA standard course (3 courses - North, South & Links), which is in the heart of the resort area. There is another excellent PGA standard course - Amarilla Golf - next door! The resort is not just for golfers, it attracts holiday makers of all types. The nearby fishing village of Los Abrigos is famous for its fish restaurants and it's September Festival. Slightly further away are the El Medeno beaches famous for their wind surfing. Facilities available locally or nearby are Car hire, Banks, many restaurants and bars, Church, Marina, Night Club, Supermarkets, Shops, Taxi Rank, Spa & Hairdressers. Local activities include Tennis, Bowls, Scuba Diving, Submarine excursions, Sailing, Fishing, Horse Riding, & Cycling. Tenerife with its year round spring like climate is the ideal winter golf destination & attracts hundreds of thousands of golfers every year. It is the home to Spain's second oldest golf course. The Apartment is across the road from Tenerife's premier international course - Golf Del Sur. It has been the host for various top international tournaments, such as the Shell Wonderful World of Golf tournament with its head-to-head battle between Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson. It has also been the setting for 2 golf driving distance records. Designed by Pepe Gancedo & recently modified by Manuel Pinero , is a thoroughly enjoyable layout with the black volcanic sand in the bunkers. The course is known for its difficult holes 3 (par 5) and 4 (par 4) on the North course. There is a special instruction area for teaching golf for groups from beginner to advanced levels. The area includes different practice tees, greens, bunkers and chipping greens. The club house is very elegant in a traditional Spanish design & has great views of the Links Course out to the Atlantic. The Donald Steele designed Amarilla (also PGA Standard) Golf course is also nearby, though a taxi or car is required if you are carrying your clubs. From the course you have amazing views of the majestic Mount Teide. During your round you will find yourself surrounded by a broad variety of typical canarian flora. Designer Donald Steel, took advantage of the beautiful contrasts of the Island to achieve a varied course between ravines and the Atlantic Ocean. From the first tee, you have spectacular ocean views which Donald had in mind when he designed it. The most impressive part of the course is the 5th hole, where the sea becomes the fairway, making it necessary to cross it in order to reach the green. See the photo. The San Blas Center
is the local commercial centre and only a few minutes walk from the apartment. It is a great place to drink or dine out after a round. It is a combination of Shops, Supermarket, Banks, Doctor, Bars, Restaurants, School, Nightclub, car hire & excursion shops, internet cafes, gift shops and a Church surrounding a series of squares. There are plenty of Restaurants and bars - offering varied cuisine from the familiar (British - including a fish & chip shop for those who are home sick) to French, Italian, Spanish, Indian and Chinese. But this is NOT the noisy - lager fuelled environment found in the Veronicas & the Patch area of Playa Las Americas. It is family orientated - with free entertainment available every evening in the top & middle squares. A walk down the promenade by the deep blue Atlantic Ocean takes you to even more restaurants and pubs/bars. These include Tex/Mex (great Margaritas), Japanese and Fish restaurants.

Tenerife itself
The largest of the Canary Islands, it is known for it's eternal spring like climate. Because of its southerly latitude and the constant Trade Winds, it is one of the sunniest spots on the planet! The south, where the apartment is located, is the sunniest and driest side of the island. The north is cooler and wetter. Truly an island of contrasts - with the arid desert-like south, the volcanic baroness around Mount Teide - that is often snow capped in the winter - yes you can have a white Christmas and get a tan at the same time! To the lush verdant greenness and dramatic scenery of the North. There are beaches of black and golden sand. It has vibrant night life, fabulous fiestas and carnivals (including the world's 2nd largest every February), sedate quiet life, luxury shopping (including the second largest open air shopping precinct in Europe), local traditional restaurants & restaurants serving fine international cuisine.

Non Golfers or other things to do.
The great thing about Tenerife is that there are plenty of other things to do other than golf or sun bathing. There is something for all ages. Here is a list of just some of the options: Horse riding, Scuba Diving, Wind Surfing, Para surfing, Mountain Biking, Road cycling (Check out the video on Utube!), bowls, 10 pin bowling, karting - home of Europe's largest out door track, 2 great aqua parks, zoos, Bodegas - wine tasting, coach trips through some specular scenery, walking, sailing, whale watching, and cruising. Then there is the spectacular Mount Teide itself rising 12,000 ft. The island is a play ground from the young to the old. Did we mention shopping!! The island is effectively tax free, and ladies a great range of quality stylish shoes and handbags can be found, not available in the UK, with designer style at bargain prices!!
