The villa, 5 minutes' stroll from the village, is at 800 feet, and overlooks the Mediterranean to the front, vineyards and the Troodos Mountains to the left. It is comprised of two bedrooms on the ground floor, and there is also a large family bathroom. The upstairs consists of a fully fitted kitchen, dining area, with table and six chairs, and sitting area, with two sofas and a large armchair, large coffee table and other rattan and bamboo furniture. There is a TV with Free Sat (BBC, ITV, Sky News etc) and local channels, including BFBS, and a music centre. A telephone is available for local and incoming calls only. Patio doors lead to the very large balcony (12foot x 8 foot) that has an electric blind overhead to provide shade, and a table and six chairs with cushions. A Mitsubishi Lancer car with air-con is included free of charge. This represents a saving of £100 to £240 per week, depending on the time of year. The large communal swimming pool with shady pergola is close by.
Lemontree Villa is 15 minutes’ drive from Paphos Airport, in the prestigious Sunrise Development, consisting of 29 contrasting villas, owned mainly by British expatriate residents. The development is mature, and is situated on the edge of the village, a lazy 5 minutes’ walk from the centre. About 3 kilometers away, down the hill, is Pissouri Bay. This area boasts an excellent beach with sun beds and shades, watersports, a 5-star hotel and leisure complex, shops and about eight restaurants and Tavernas. Paphos and Limassol are both about 25 minutes' drive away, with many places of archaelogical interest nearby, including Curion, with excellent Roman/Greek/Christian remains, including mosaics and an amphitheatre. The Troodos Mountains are about 40 minutes' drive away, with many interesting villages on the way. Skiing is available during winter months. Mountain biking and walking are also very popular. There are several reservoirs with trout, zander, large-mouth bass, carp and others.

| Notes | Out of season, that is, between November and April, Cyprus offers the walking enthusiast so much choice of mapped-out treks, near the coast, in uninhabited areas, and in the foothills and mountains. And most locations are within about an hour of our villa. Imagine a day of hard (or soft if that is your choice) trekking, to finish up at a mountain taverna sipping ice-cold Keo!! Imagine walking through pine-covered slopes and coming across a spectacular waterfall deep in the forest! Try to consider walking along the beach at Pissouri in February, in your shirtsleeves, then 40 minutes later throwing snowballs at each other in the Troodos mountains!! Treck through the foothills above Paphos, and visit some really amazing villages hidden from the view of the average tourist!! Then come home to Pissouri, to eat at one of the wonderful restaurants that abound in the village... |
Angling
Cyprus needs to conserve its water for domestic use. This has necessitated the creating of 24 reservoirs (dams), some near to the coast, and many at varying levels up to the summit of the Troodos Mountains. These man-made lakes are often set in spectacular countryside, and make a fishing expedition very exciting! The first thing you need to do is to buy a temporary licence for CY£5, that entitles you to fish in any dam for 2 weeks (see later for info). The lower dams contain such fish as large mouth bass, carp, grey mullet, eel, tench, repfen, silver bream, mosquito fish roach, catfish, tilapia, perch and pike-perch (zander). The dams in the mountains also contain trout. You can fish for these species in most ways, including spinning for trout, and two facts stand out:
1. The fish are not shy
2. The fish are very large.
Sunbathing, bathing and relaxing
The villa is very desirable for those couples or families who want a quiet peaceful holiday. It is expected that you will respect the peace of others, be they residents or their guests. There may be children about, mainly because the residents have their own children residing there, and also their grandchildren may be holidaying with them from time to time. But because they (the residents) also value their peace, they keep said sproglets on a reasonably short leash! Please ensure that your children in turn behave reasonably when in the villa area, or the pool area.
A large foldable table and six chairs are available on the balcony, together with a smaller round table, the choice being yours. As stated before, the balcony is big!
A large wooden table and a further plastic table are placed in the downstairs patio area, for use when having barbeques etcetera. There are ten chairs also. So if you would like to invite the residents round for a barbie, accommodation is sufficient!
