The original coach house to the main house (c.1750) has fabulous views over the valley and has been restored to a high standard retaining many original features (ETB rated 4*). There is a double height sitting room with dining area, exposed original roof timbers and lintels. The lovely galleried bedroom has a king sized bed, chest of drawers, built in wardrobe and cupboards and space for a cot (there is an ingenious system which enables you to curtain off the cot area so as not to wake the baby). There is a fully equipped separate kitchen and an impressive slate and glass wet room with huge shower area. Downstairs, the flooring is teak with rugs; upstairs, the bedroom is carpeted for comfort. Outside the Coach House has a private garden with terrace and lawn areas, a built-in barbeque and hardwood furniture. The Coach House has ample parking for 2 cars a short distance from its garden. Very baby-friendly, we can provide most baby equipment. New for 2007: Adventure Playground for kids
The Kernock estate is about 1/2 a mile from the village of Pillaton - with its 12th Century pub - and 2 miles from the world-famous St Mellion Golf and Country Club. Ideally situated for walkers, we are midway between Bodmin and Dartmoor, and also have beautiful local walks in the Tamar and Lynher valleys. A number of NT properties including Cotehele House are nearby. The beaches of Whitsand Bay are about 10 miles away. Riding and coarse fishing are available locally and there are nearby facilities for windsurfing and sailing Cultural activities are available in Plymouth, which boasts the National Marine Aquarium, many features of historical interest, and a good theatre. Local activities for children include the donkey sanctuary, the monkey sanctuary, and Dobwalls adventure park. For those who want to stay at home, guests have access to our 28 acres of gardens, fields, terraces, woods and picnic areas for walks, views, games, bird watching or just doing nothing!
