A Unique Golfing Experience
The Monte Rei Golf Club is set in the picturesque foothills of the Eastern Algarve, with sweeping views of the Serra do Caldeirão mountains to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the south. The first of two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses - "Monte Rei North" - opened for play in June 2007. This par 72 Championship course measuring 6567m from the Tournament tees is a truly unique design; with water coming into play on eleven of the eighteen holes, the course features an enjoyable series of eight par-4s, five par-3s and five par-5s in a challenging and distinctive layout. The course presentation is highly individual, each hole a design gem blending effortlessly into this natural canvas, from its ingenious shape and sculptured bunkers, to the impressive presentation and attention to detail making ever hole as remarkable as the next.

Under the expert guidance of our PGA Professionals, the practice area is also home to the Monte Rei Golf Academy, featuring a state of the art swing studio offering the very latest in teaching techniques and video swing analysis.

Opening Hours
The clubhouse and Professionals shop (practice facility, golf services, locker room and Monte Rei grill) will be open from 7:30am each day and close one hour after dusk. During the winter months these times may vary.
Opening tee time: 8:00am

Handicap Requirements
All guests and visitors to Monte Rei must provide a valid handicap certificate to play the course. Recommended Men maximum 24 hcp. Ladies maximum 32 hcp, or subject to the discretion of the Director of Golf.

On Course - Dress code
Golf shoes (soft spikes) must be worn with appropriate golf attire, tailored or Bermuda style shorts or trousers and collared golf shirts, ladies may wear sleeveless golf attire. The club encourages the use of soft spikes to help maintain the quality of the playing surfaces and greens condition. The locker room attendant will replace metal spikes with soft spikes prior to play.
