Eclance
Small rural village with chateau. This village has an active social committee and guests of La Ferme des Tourterelles are invited to particiapte in events. The village is gallois for 'clearing in the woods' which is a good description though now there are more agricultural fields. We are on the edge of the Champagne Route with vineyards 3 kms away and on the borders to the Regional Naturel Park of the Forêt d'Orient with its wildlife. In the park there are three large lakes, one of which is the largest lake in Europe with no human habitation alongside, one is dedicated to power water sports and the other to wind water sports with no boats with petrol engines allowed. You can see the seasons changing with the coming and goings of the migratory birds, bats and the hunting seasons for the deer and wild boar.
