Three new luxury gites in the heart of Poitou Charente
La Vieille Fromagerie is set in 3.5 acres of beautiful rural France in the heart of sunny Poitou Charente, just a few minutes from the N10 and within easy reach of Poitiers TGV station & airport and only 4 hours drive from the ports of St Malo and Caen. Each of our three luxury gites comprises of an open plan ground floor with fully fitted and equipped kitchens (including dishwasher and washing machine), dining area and a comfortable lounge (some with a sofa bed) featuring TV, DVD and HiFi. Upstairs the bedrooms are spacious with beautiful en-suites or in the case of La Vieille Laiterie, a luxury private bathroom and feature exposed stone walls, chestnut flooring and original beams. Each gite has its own private patio area with garden furniture and BBQ. There is a large shared swimming pool and children’s play area. To maximise your leisure time we provide an “eat in your gite” service where we prepare and deliver a 2 or 3 course home cooked evening meal for your enjoyment.

La Vieille Fromagerie is located on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Brux, with its 11th century church, museum, bar/restaurant and shop. Brux is centrally located for many of Poitou Charente's fine golf courses. There are many other local attractions and varied activities to enhance the enjoyment of your holiday. As well as the excitement of Futuroscope and the amazing "La Vallee des Singes" (primate sanctuary), we have Poitiers with its 100 churches, Cognac with its distilleries and the beautiful cities of Angouleme & Limoges as well as the beaches of the Atlantic coast all within easy reach. A short distance away there are several lakes with man made beaches, lifeguards and a variety of watersports in the summer months. Other activities in the local area include pony/horse riding, canoeing/kayaking, go-karts/quad bikes, fishing and many others -more than you could possibly fit into one holiday!
