"La Pourcatiero" is the name for 'pigfarm' in Occitan, which is what the house was 30 years ago. Today it is a pleasant guest house with en suite bedrooms. Its peaceful location and the hospitable reception at "La Pourcatiero" will make you forget your daily worries in the twinkling of an eye. Relax in the sun, by the swimming pool, have breakfast on the summer patio, get together and talk over the events of the day over a delicious dinner in the evening or enjoy a glass of "Blanquette".
The Mediterranean climate is tempered by the altitude (about 400m) and the local Indian summer is exceptional. "La Pourcatiero" is at a short distance from Mirepoix (12 km) and at the heart of the Cathar region with its castles, abbeys, churches and "circulades".The picturesque city of Carcassonne (25 km), the Mediterranean (100 km), and the Pyrenees (80 km) are close by.The region offers an assortment of cultural excursions and activities that will appeal to the culture and nature lover alike.
