The accommodation has been incorporated into a 16th-century barn on an old Périgourdin farm which has grown up over the centuries in a small valley overlooking the Dordogne. Calès lies mid-way between Bergerac and Sarlat near the town of Lalinde (with all shops and services) on a hill overlooking a meander of the river Dordogne. It is a small, very quiet although not isolated, village of 300 inhabitants, set in a rural environment surrounded by woods and farmed fields.
