- Notes
- Bordered by the huge peaks of the Pyrenees, the heavily perfumed herb filled fields of Provence and the rugged landscape of the mountains and gorges of the Massif Central, the luscious Languedoc-Roussillon region of France is fast taking over as France's most popular holiday destination.
The vast vineyards produce an abundance of excellent wines, including Corbières, Minervois and St Chinian.
Strong Mediterranean flavours, such as garlic, thyme, and rosemary are used in abundance with fantastic locally grown fruit and vegetables. On the coast, wonderfully fresh seafood, including superb oysters and mussels, is available all year long, whilst from the mountains, patés, hams and wild mushrooms create enticing menus.
The Languedoc is blessed with a wonderful climate, rich wildlife, a spectacular coast and beautiful scenery.
It is simply the perfect destination, and with, on average, 300 days of sunshine a year, it is officially the sunniest region in France.
