Wellpark House is a unique, comfortable well- furnished Irish Country House built in a more leisurely age (1730) surrounded by an acre of landscaped garden and a specially designed barbecue garden. It is situated in the picturesque village of Oughterard in the region of Connemara, renowned for its beautiful lakes, mountains, rivers and white beaches. Wellpark has six bedrooms and sleeps 12. A favourite feature is the huge well-equipped farmhouse style kitchen with open fire. There is a traditional dining room and a sitting rooms with open fire, Internet access and satellite TV.There are 3 Italian tiled bathrooms and a laundry room. The fishing is excellent (salmon and trout) and an 18 hole Golf Course is nearby. There are 3 more Golf Courses within 30 mins.drive, where day visitors receive a welcome and special rates. Irish food is wholesome and delicious and good restaurants abound.The fascinating City of Galway is only 30 mins. drive away, with theatres, shopping, and horse- racing.

| Notes | Many interesting trips are available in the surrounding area. Visitors receive a list of Our Favourite trips which helps them plan their holiday. Some examples are a day-trip to the Aran Isles. A visit to an Irish Music festival. A visit to croagh patrick the pilgrom's Mount. A day out on one of the beautiful beaches, winter or summer, which are very different to resort beaches. It will only be peopled by rabbits, birds, sheep or cattle.There are many historical castles to be visited in the area Aughnanure castle in Oughterard itself or Cong Abbey. A contrast in the opposite direction would be the fascinating city of Galway where buskers of all types sing or do acrobatics in Shop Street. Galway Cathedral made of Connemara marble and local stone, should be visited. Pope John Paul welcomed its inauguration.Galway is full of interesting little shops (Aran sweaters) in its narrow streets, also pubs, restaurants, clubs, discoteques,theatres, cinemas and the famous Galway Races. |

Oughterard golf course is 18 hole Parkland and is only 4 mins. drive from Wellpark House. Three more golf Clubs are about 30 mins. drive to the West, in spectacular Atlantic scenery and another three lie to the East towards Galway.
Ireland welcomes visitors to their Golf Clubs and Oughterard has a particularly good clubhouse where you may dine.
