It will only be peopled by rabbits, birds, sheep or cattle. There are many historical castles to be visited in the area Aughnanure castle in Oughterard itself or Cong Abbey. A contrast in the opposite direction would be the fascinating city of Galway where buskers of all types sing or do acrobatics in Shop Street. Galway Cathedral made of Connemara marble and local stone, should be visited. Pope John Paul welcomed its inauguration.Galway is full of interesting little shops (Aran sweaters) in its narrow streets, also pubs, restaurants, clubs, discoteques, theatres, cinemas and the famous Galway Races.
