• In the centre of Krakow is the old market square that is home to not only the beautiful ‘Cloth Hall’ building that is home to the daily market, but also the astounding Church of St Mary. (Not to mention that is has over 300 pubs and bars in the old town alone!)
• 50 Kilometres outside of Krakow lies the remains of the Auschwitz concentration camp that many tourists feel that they must visit. Although it symbolises genocide, terror and the Holocaust, it is also a memorial of human heroism, solidarity and resistance to crime and terror.
• Krakow’s Wieliczka Salt mine has become an increasingly popular tourist attraction. There are over 200 kilometres of passages that takes tourists to 135 metres below the earth’s level. It is down here that occasionally concerts and other events take place, in Wieliczka’s biggest chamber.
