This light, airy 4 year old 2nd floor apartment is located on the Vila Marachique complex on the outskirts of the town of Alvor. It has been recently redecorated, furnished and fitted to a high standard throughout. The two large balconies provide extensive outside space for relaxing, taking in the panoramic views and watching the sun set. There is full air-conditioning providing a comfortable environment for the hot summer days and nights and also serves to provide warmth if required for the cooler winter and spring. Vila Marachique sits in 5 acres of lush tropical gardens making it the largest and greenest outdoor pool area in Alvor. It has a lake-size pool for adults, a large safe pool for babies and children, a pool bar open during the day and a children's play area. Alvor is a picturesque fishing village that has a rich history dating back to pre-Roman times. Today with its many cobbled and narrow streets Alvor still retains much of its charm and laid-back atmosphere.

Alvor
Approx 45 minute drive from Faro Airport and situated between the towns of Portimao (5km) and Lagos (17km). Faro is well served by daily flights from the UK. Car hire is not essential as the town and beaches are within walking distance, and many day-trips can be arranged from Alvor. Taxis are cheap and reliable and can be picked up at the taxi rank in town. Alvor is on a main bus route and the service is good. There are also more than 5 miles of blue flag sandy beaches and sand dunes that are a protected conservation area including one of Algarve’s most beautiful, where you can explore coves and caves. The entire stretch is uncrowded, has occasional beach bars/restaurants, sun beds/umbrellas and some water sports facilities available for hire. The Algarve, only two and a half hours flight from the UK, has been a magnet to many discerning golfers for almost three decades. Portugal’s southernmost province is justly famous for its spectacular scenery along a fabulous coastline. The main golf season is from late autumn to late spring. Winters are mild and golfers from the UK can enjoy warm, sunny days and keep their swings smooth at a time when their home courses are unplayable. 9 of the algarves 29 golf courses are within 25 mins drive of our apartment, the closest, Alto Golf, is just 5 mins away. more information on the courses can be provided on request. The other courses within 25 mins are Boavista, Gramacho, Morgado, Palmares, Pinto, Vale de Milho and Parque de Floresta. These courses provide a wide range of difficulty, type and also cost. It is our opinion that you couldn't get a better spectrum of golfing variety anywhere. I have contacts in the area that can provide transport, tee times, golf consumables and even golf equipment hire should you want it.

Location
Alvor is centrally situated enabling you to visit the busier towns of Praia de Rocha with its clubs and casino, Portimao or Lagos. The lazier, quieter western Algarve resorts of Praia de Luz, Burgau or Sagres are within 30 mins drive. Even quieter are the resorts on the west coast where you could find a beach to yourself. Other places to visit include water parks, Aljezur, Cape St Vincent and the Monchique Mountains. There is a village market in Alvor every second Tuesday of the month.

The Complex
Due to the extensive grounds of Vila Marachique we have never seen the pool area crowded, even in high season. The 5 acres of grounds with the huge pool, gardens and many palm trees provide a wonderful area for sunbathing in the 300+ days of sunshine the Algarve gets each year. You can always find a quiet corner if you want to be by yourself or throw a blanket on the lush grass and have a picnic. The grass stays green even in the height of summer as the complex has its own water supply from an underground well.

Prices are inclusive of all services. Deposit of 25% payable by cheque or bank transfer with booking form to confirm reservation. Balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival again by cheque or bank transfer. Discounted long term lets in low season. Smoking is not allowed in the apartment. For larger groups we have access to other apartments on the same complex, an identical one is situated on the same floor as ours, please enquire re availability.
