Set in the mountains there are spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, and Santo da Serra is home to a superb 27-hole golf course covering 9,003 metres; a challenging year round course built amongst an impressive landscape of mountains and lakes. In the village of Santo da Serra and within one kilometre there are a few restaurants and bars as well as a couple of shops. The Parque do Santo da Serra is mainly woodlands, once part of an estate; here you will find a children’s play area, deer and bird enclosures and crazy gold. Parque do Santo da Serra is the perfect location for a picnic. Public transport will take you to Funchal about 18 km away.Due to its mountain location, there are no beaches in Santo da Serra but the nearest beach and disco is about seven kilometres away, with Funchal and its bathing areas
