Golf details
Cullen - 2 miles away : Cullen is a traditional Scottish links course with magnificent views over the Moray Firth where dolphins are regularly seen. The club was founded in 1870 and the first nine holes were laid out by old Tom Morris. It was upgraded to 18 holes by Charlie Neaves.
Strathlene - 4 miles away : Strathlene is one of the oldest golf courses in Scotland first established in 1877. Strathlene is an interesting cliff top Links type 18 hole course. Every hole has its own characteristics, of undulating fairways, gully’s and elevated greens, making the most of the natural contours of the land. 4 of the original holes make up an enjoyable finish to the round . Strathlene is a fine test of golf for all levels of golfer, with its breathtaking views of the Moray Firth, The Dolphins and the surrounding countryside .It is a classic in a great location with a par of 69 and 5977 yards in length.
The club have recently completed the development of a new Golf Training Facility. It consists of practice bunkers, a 3 hole, pitch and putt, putting greens and a 14 bay driving range. This is a community project run by the club for the youth in particular, but is open to all. Strathlene also has full bar and catering facilities.
Garmouth & kingston Golf Club - 10 miles away: This course can be found nestling on the west bank of the River Spey between the twin villages of Garmouth and Kingston. Main features are the consistently small greens and numerous hazards that have to be encountered. The eighth proves difficulty is not always associated with length as a ditch bounds the fairway on either side with OOB to the left for the entire length of the hole. A good tee shot with an even better approach to the green is required to avoid a sizeable score.
Another aspect is the abundance of surrounding wild life, including the ever-present summer visitor, the osprey.
THERE ARE MANY OTHER CLUBS IN THE LOCAL AREA, INCLUDING HUNTLY, KEITH, BANFF, ELGIN, LOSSIEMOUTH, KINLOSS + MORE
