The city has a stunningly beautiful cathederal as well as numerous other sights of interest. Cartenga is a beautiful city within a Roman Theatre and only 30 minutes drive away, situated around a superb natural harbour. The Mar Menor or "Little sea" is a huge (120km2) inland saltwater lagoon with great beaches on the inland side.
