A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at Cortijo la Estrella set at the foothills of the Sierra de las Estancias, in six acres of almond grove with spectacular scenery, close to the Sierra Marνa-Natural Park with easy access from the A92N motorway and the airports of Murcia, Almeria, Granada and Alicante. Cortijo La Estrella comprises a total of nine self catering apartments, 6 two bedroom apartments and three one bedroom apartments, each with lounge, kitchen, bathroom/shower and double/twin bedrooms. All apartments have air conditioning for heating and cooling. An ideal location for discovering historic places of Andalucia and Murcia with the opportunity of enjoying such activities as walking, bird-watching, painting, quad biking, mountain biking, paragliding, golf, sightseeing or skiing in the Sierra Nevada. Less than an hour to the sandy beaches of Aguilas and San Juan de los Terreros stretching to Mojacar and beyond to the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Nijar.

An ideal location for discovering historic places of Andalucia and Murcia with the opportunity of enjoying such activies as walking, bird watching, golf, painting, cycling, paragliding, quad biking, mountain biking, sight-seeing, or skiing in Sierra Nevada. NotesThe area has several important historical sites including the Neolithic cave paintings at Cueva del Gabor, near Velez Blanco and Cueva de los Letreros, UNESCO world heritage site, just outside the town of Velez Rubio. Castillo de Fajardo, better known as the Castle of Velez Blanco sits upon a spur of Mount mahimon with magnificant views throug the Blanco valley. The castle appears on many postcards, books, and publications for the province of Almeria. It is considered one of the finest examples of Renaissance style in Spain. the castle was decalred a National Monument in 1931. The Alhambra Palace in Granada, an hour and a half drive from Cortijo la Estrella, is well worth a visit with it's specatacular architecture and beautifully kept gardens.
Golf details
Valle del Este Golf Resort in Vera is 40 minutes drive away and has an 18 hole golf course that has been carefully designed by Josι Canales, to combine holes that represent a real challenge to the player. Desert Springs in Cuevas del Almanzora, 40 minutes drive away, has been built to the full USGA specifications. The course is a must for both the beginner and the experienced golfer as fairways have been kept generously wide but the springs, watercourses, dry river beds, rocks, thousands of cacti and numerous bunkers will test the skills of thw low handicapper. Cortijo Grande 9 hole golf course in Turre, 50 minutes drive. Marina de la Torre in Mojacar, 50 minutes drive away. Includes driving range. Camposol Golf Complex, Mazarron, 45 minutes drive away.

Group Bookings
Cortijo La Estrella can accommodate a total of 30 persons in its nine apartments, giving individuals the opportunity to enjoy their own space whilst hoidaying in a group. There is a bar and seating area and also a meeting room available for groups/ seminars. Group bookings are welcome and although the apartments are self-catering we are able to offer breakfast, barbacues and dinner to those booking as a group. Group discounts are also available on request.
