Calahonda
Calahonda is tucked between Marbella and Fuengirola and only 25 minutes west of Malaga airport,. The location of the apartment is “excellent” in making it very easy to access the majority of this coasts other major resorts and attractions in very little time. Within a few minutes walk of the apartment you will find a mini-market and bar/restaurants, walking further on (3 minute drive) will bring you to the ‘Strip’ well known in Calahonda for its wide choice of restaurants, which cater for literally all tastes. Around the corner from the Strip is the El Zoco Centre with more wonderful restaurants set in a lovely pedestranised area, in addition to gift shops, banks, newsagents, pharmacy etc and one of 3 large supermarkets. Opposite the El Zoco, there is the Dona Lola Complex, again you will find a further choice of good bars and restaurants. Less than 5 minutes from here is the beautiful Cabopino Marina and beach with watersports, local beach bars and restaurants lining the marina.

Calahonda is very popular with golf fans, as the region has one of Europe’s highest concentrations of first-rate golf courses, a total of 10 golf courses can be found within a 10-kilometre radius of the area alone, four around Calahonda itself. A total of 40 courses, including World-class courses, can be reached within 40 minutes! There are too many golf courses to mention, but it is fair to say the nearest course of La Siesta can be reached within 2 minutes of the apartment and the Royal Spanish Golf Federation has confirmed that the La Cala Resort (only 15 minutes from the apartment), is the biggest golf complex in Spain. La Cala has three 18-hole championship courses and a top quality 6-hole par 3 layout making it the largest golf resort in the country. A further 10 excellent courses can also be found within a 10km radius of the apartment including the courses of Miraflores, Cabopino, Santa Clara, Santa Maria and Marbella Rio Real.

TENNIS
Another popular sport on this coast due to its favourable climate. Many of the top hotels have courts for hire and there are numerous clubs to be found. One of the best clubs is the Tennis Club Del Sol only 2 minutes from the apartment and set in lovely landscaped gardens. This club also has a large air-conditioned gym, sauna and squash courts.

FAMILY ATTRACTIONS-RESORTS
From the apartment it is only 10 minutes to Mijas Water Park and many other great family attractions can be reached within 15 minutes including, Aqualand, Fuengirola Zoo, Crocodile Park, Tivoli World, Sealife Centre, Selwo Safari Park, Selwo Marina, Cable Cars and Funny Beach. Likewise the resorts of Marbella and Puerto Banus are only 10 and fifteen minutes away. In the other direction Fuengirola and Benalmedena are again 10 and 15 minutes away. The beautiful, picturesque white washed mountain village of Mijas with its famous "Burro Service" - donkey taxis's!! is reached in 15 minutes. Estepona and Gibralter with its duty free shopping and mischievious monkeys! are within 50 minutes and the historical town of Ronda can be reached in around 1 hour.
