Next door to the 27 hole Lauro Golf course and the more challenging Alahurin el Grande, designed by Seve Ballesteros, only 8 mins drive, plus 60 more courses within easy reach. We have extra transport - transit van for clubs with 6 seats and an 8 seater airconditioned mini bus for hire with drivers. Close to beaches of the Costas, ideal for day trips to Gibraltar, the Alhambra at Granada, Ronda, Seville, Sierra Nevadas. We also run an Adventure consultants company and can arrange trips for you.

Alhaurin de la torre
Finca Fernandez is located on the edge of a small rural Andalucian village, La Alqueria, which is halfway between the small market towns of Alhaurin de la Torre and Alhaurin el Grande ( 5 mins drive from either ), where there is plenty of nightlife, if a trip to the coast is not required. 15mins from the nearest beaches. The villas are situated between the mountains and the sea, in a beautiful fertile valley , overlooking the mountains of Malaga and river Valley. It is an extremely pretty area with fertile orchards, olive plantations, orange and lemon groves. In Springtime, wild flowers abound, filling every space with blood red poppies, wild sweet peas and the smell of wild mountain herbs. A car is essential for our location. We can help with transport - a driver with transit van for clubs and 4 passengers and we also have an 8 seater air conditioned mini bus, should you need a good night out. We have an Adventure Consultants Business and can arrange trips anywhere.

The 27 hole Lauro Golf Course is next door to our property. Alhaurin Golf is an 18 hole course and is approx 10 mins drive away. Mijas Golf is 25 mins drive and the course at Playa Major is approx 20 mins drive. There are many other courses a little further afield along the coast. Golfing enthusiasts will certainly enjoy the area, with no less than 4 high quality 18 hole courses within 15 minutes drive from the centre of Alhaurin de la Torre. Courses such as the lovely parkland 27 hole Lauro Golf and the challenging 18 hole course at Alhaurin golf, designed by Seve Ballasteros, which must have one of the most spectacular scenery for any golf course in the world. Lauro Golf Club, opened in May 1999 and was the last project of the renowned Italian golf course designer, Folco Nardi. It adjoins the protected forest of the Sierra de Mijas. Many of the holes, each bearing the name of a bullfighter, are cut between lines of olive trees and to add to the difficulty, there are several carefully placed water hazards. The clubhouse is an old grange or Cortijo built around a shaded courtyard and has an open-air restaurant. Lauro Golf is about 20 minutes from Málaga airport and Torremolinos on the C344 road, signposted to Coín.

Places to visit These are my personal favourites, if I have visiting family members staying with me for a week or two. I have given the approximate travel times in our location section—these are all day or half day trips. RONDA See the dramatic gorge where, by trickery, men plunged with their horses to their deaths, the oldest bull ring in Spain and wonderful leather shops. ALHAMBRA PALACE at Granada—make sure you book in advance or you won’t get in to see this magnificent and magical fortress MALAGA People are surprised when I suggest the city but you will find it fascinating if you go off down the side streets and look at the beautiful architecture, the port, the castle and don’t forget the feria in the second week of August , the largest in our province. Try chilled Malaga sweet wine in one of the old bodegas with a plate of cold prawns or go to the lovely old indoor market and shopping is wonderful, ladies ! SIERRA NEVADAS Visit the little Moorish villages high up in the Alpujarras. Chris Stewart from ‘Driving Over Lemons’ fame, lives near Orgiva, which is a charming little mountain village, nestling in the valley, with its own well established hippy colony close by. It’s worth going if only for the free tapas in the bars, one of the few places left in Spain that actually does serve freely them unless you go to the far North. Good for ceramics and nick nacks. GIBRALTAR I visit to do my big shopping ! It is a fascinating place, a little run down in parts but don’t be put off. You have to visit the monkeys and the caves. The botanical gardens are pleasant and a poignant moment for me was to see the little graveyard where a very young drummer boy was buried—the battle of Trafalgar was fought just off this coast. MORROCCO Yes, you can go there and back to another continent in one day. You can see the coast of Africa. Take the ferry from Gibraltar and go haggling in Tangiers. CHORRO LAKES No need to visit the beaches when there are the beautifu

The villas can be leased singly out of high season and the remaining villa will remain unoccupied for the privacy of the guest , to allow you to enjoy all the facilities alone. During July and August, we can only lease them together. We also have a daily rate ( min. stay 2 nights ) of £46.00 for each villa, from Nov to April. There is no charge for towels and bed linen but we ask you to bring your own beach towels. There is a secure lock up system for your valuables at no extra charge—only applicable to villa Rosa. A small welcome pack is provided for guests staying for a minimum of one week, plus seasonal fruits from our finca when available. We can provide BBQs and meals if required. We must remind you that transport is essential for our location. Access is easy and a bus route is nearby but it would be unsuitable and may spoil your visit The villas can be leased long term from November to April at a cost of £350 each plus utilities.
