It is an ideal year round base for a golfing holiday with not only the home course but many other excellent courses within a short drive. From June to September it is also the perfect location for a family holiday with the wide variety of beaches, sporting activities and restaurants for when you are not relaxing by the pool.

Santa Cristina De Aro
Santa Cristina De Aro is a pretty village in the province og Girona on the Costa Brava, where you will find the lovely Golf Course - Club de Golf Costa Brava. It is about 3 km from Sant Feliu and Playa de Aro, and S'Agaro which are all on the coast. It is the ideal location for a summer holiday but also ideal for an off season golfing holiday when the course green fees are substantially lower. There are about 10 golf courses with 30 to 45 min drive, apart from the one on the doorstep. Weather for golf is ideal all year but especially from March to November. It is also an ideal location for cycling and walking. There are large numbers of marked mountain paths and cycling routes - both are hugely popular in this area and the countryside is stunning.

- Santa Cristina is a little village with a pretty square; it has an excellent supermarket, baker, butcher and fishmonger. It is also ideally placed for exploring the Costa Brava - you can go in all directions and find plenty of interest, both scenically and culturally. Apart from the beautiful coastline, Barcelona and Girona, there are many other attractions like the Dali museums, Roman ruins etc. There are two towns on the coast very close by and any number of others easily accessible, all quite different in character. Platja d'Aro is a large bustling tourist resort with all the restaurants, night life, designer boutiques etc. that you would expect. There are also beaches, an aqua sports centre and sailing. Sant Feliu, is about 3 km away. It is an old harbour town with a local population. This is definitely the "locals' town". There is a daily market in the main square specialising in fruit, vegetables and fish, which is run by the locals for the locals.
Golf details
The Costa Brava is an excellent area for golf, and Santa Cristina is an excellent base to explore its courses.
In 2000, IAGTO, the global trade association of the golf tourism industry, awarded the Costa Brava the title 'best emerging golf destination of the year', saying:
"In the Costa Brava, golf lovers have a destination featuring 10 golf courses that are open year-round and with a Mediterranean climate with mild temperatures that keep the courses in perfect condition. The quality, spectacularity, variety and accessibility to tee off-times are undisputed attractions of courses designed by such major figures as Robert von Hagge, Hawtree or Ram�n Espinosa, among others.
The course styles are varied including links, parkland layouts which are often lined with impressive pines, cork and oak trees, whilst others include water hazards and large undulating greens. The environment has provided this area with a privileged landscape, where golf courses have been perfectly adapted and carefully respect the environment around them."
All these courses are within an hour's drive of Santa Cristina, and most within half-an-hour.
Club de Golf Costa Brava
The villa is situated overlooking the 4th fairway of the Club de Golf Costa Brava. The first tee is five minutes' walk away. This beautiful 18 hole golf course, founded in 1968, was designed by Hamilton Stutt & Co. and combines a very technical first 9 holes, surrounded by pines and cork oaks, with the long second 9 holes: flat terrain with wide long fairways.
