Lounge/Diner with contemporary Kitchen

8x4 metre private pool
Enjoy relaxing by the pool basking in the warmth of the Andalucian sun amid the flora and fauna of the real Spain. Barbeque and dine on one of the many terraces around the villa. There is a fully equipped contemporary styled kitchen with granite worktops and everything for your holiday culinary needs. Three bedrooms all with comfortable beds, ample storage space and wonderful views. The lounge / diner has leather sofas and table / chairs for 6 people. Satellite TV (Hotbird/Astra), a DVD & stereo system. Private 8*4 mtr swimming pool, outdoor shower, Cortijo style poolhouse with full changing facilities. Adjoining the poolhouse is a rustic 'alfresco' kitchen with built in barbeque, sink, bar area and terrific view to the sea. Before that round of golf at the renowned Baviera course, enjoy breakfast on the roof top solarium. The half-acre plot has over 20 almond trees, is fully fenced with ample parking facilities. Tranquility and excellent golf awaits you.
Arenas is situated near the Seco river at 416 metres altitude, between Cerro Alto (627 m.) to the north and Benthomiz (706 m.) to the south, in the Axarquía mountains. The landscape characterizes these mountains: hills covered in almond trees, olives and vines, and speckled with farmhouses. Sometimes a small pine grove breaks the monotony of the surroundings, which takes on a notable showiness when the almonds come into flower over the hillsides of Benthomiz; a great hill, which covers the major part of the municipality and on which the ruins of a castle are found. From the peak, one can contemplate excellent panoramas of the Axarquía region, which go from the Sierra Tejada, to the north, up to the sea, on the south. After approx. 30-40 minutes from the airport. Leave the E15 at junction 272 (Velez Malaga / Torre del Mar.) On your left you will see Velez town with its church and castle clearly visible. | Notes | ARENAS - Casa de Almendras is located only 10 kilometres from Vélez-Málaga, towards the village of Arenas in the Axarquía, Andalucia, Spain. There is a local rustic restaurant/bar where the locals meet. Arenas is steeped in history and still retains it’s Spanish charm. It’s also is the starting point of the “Ruta Mudejar.” BAVIERA GOLF designed by José María Cañizares, the prestigious professional golfer. The course is 20 minutes from the villa and the beach a further 5 minutes away. It is an even course characterized by its wide greens with many movements and the great variety of obstacles which offer a big range of strokes and an ideal design for all types of handicap. The variety of holes and the unsurpassable views both to the Mediterranean sea and the mountains contribute to make you enjoy and share an unforgettable day at BAVIERA GOLF then its back to the villa for the evening BBQ. Time to relax, reflect and admire the 360 degree views. Try the Anoreta course tomorrow??? |
Attractions
Apart from Arenas, there are plenty of restaurants in either in Velez or Torre del Mar. Velez Malaga or “Velez” as the locals call it has many places to shop and there is also an international shopping mall “El Ingenio” (at the motorway junction) for bulk supplies. Additionally there is a cinema complex and a bowling alley. Opposite is an Aquapark.
LAKE VINUELA is a good place to visit and the surrounding villages Los Romanos and Vinuela. The restaurant at the Hotel Vinuela is very good as are the two on the west side of the lake.
GRANADA is 90-120 minutes drive from the villa via very scenic routes either inland or via the coastal Costa Tropical route.
SIERRA DE ALMIJARA
The Tejeda and Almijara mountains are and impressive chains of mountains which constitute the geographical barrier between the provinces of Malaga and Granada. The former constitutes the spine of the area known as the “Axarquia” ( the “eastern” for the Arabs), redoubt of the Moorish culture.
Local village - Arenas
The village offers the possibilities of recreating a typically Arabic architecture and urbanism, with two-storey houses built on hills and therefore on different levels to each other. The most emblematic building is the parish church of Santa Catalina, a 16th century Mudejar work which was seriously affected by a fire in 1926, although fortunately part of its tower remained which was once the minaret of the old mosque and on which it was erected. Close to the urban nucleus, on a hill, are the ruins of the Benthomiz castle, a fort which was Roman and then Arabic; decisive for the defence of the area until 1487 and a refuge for the rebel Moors in the 16th century. Only a few vaults (dungeons) are left and part of the exterior walls which are crowned in some parts by battlements. In the Daimalos area there is another minaret and an Arabic fountain.
Places to Visit - Nerja
Situated in a unique and incomparably beautiful setting , Nerja welcomes its visitors with the crystal clear water of its beaches and the beautiful mountains of the Sierra de Almijara at only 55 Km of Malaga, capital of La Costa del Sol.
In the town centre, built from 1487, you Hill find the famous “Balcony of Europe”, a mirador over the sea built from the ruins of an old mediaeval castle. The city centre has preserved all the essence of Andalusia with its whitewashed houses and geraniums in the balconies. It also offers the visitor a rich variety of restaurants and bars where they can enjoy the quality and variety of local gastronomy.
The beaches are perfect to enjoy the Mediterranean sun and practice water sports for all the family. The famous beach of Burriana is awarded the blue flag of the UE every year. Nerja also has a wide cultural offer from which one must highlight the Cuevas de Nerja festival. Those caves, which can be visited all year round, are a natural prodigy.
