Monmouth Golf Club is conveniently situated along the A.40, half a mile north of Monmouth Town, in the direction of Ross on Wye. Turn left into Leasbrook Lane and continue for approximately half a mile, you can’t miss it !!
The Club celebrated its‘ centenary in 1996 and has been at the present location since 1921.
THE COURSE-
Originally a nine hole course, Monmouth was extended to 18 holes in 1992. In that year, also, the “new” clubhouse was opened, offering a most comfortable location for a drink or a meal with magnificent views of the course and the surrounding countryside. Claiming to bee the prettiest golf course in Wales, Monmouth Golf Club stands on high ground above the town with superb views towards the Welsh hills, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.
The undulating parkland course, splendidly maintained throughout the year by greenkeeper Lee Williams and and his assistants, is 5582 yards off the white tees, 5507 off yellow (par 69, SSS 67) and 5118 off the Ladies’ tees ( par 72, SSS 72 ).
Each aptly named hole offers a different challenge and names such as “ Cannes Folly” , “Kymin View”, “ The Oasis “, “ The Struggle” , “ Cresta Run” ,” Long Haul” , “ Devil’s Bunker “ ,and
“ Last Gasp “ give clues to the test in store.
The ambitious player can prepare himself/herself on the practice area and putting green.
As you move away from the clubhouse you become aware of the tranquillity of the verdant surroundings, mature trees, wild flowers and an abundance of wild life – Deer, Pheasant and Rabbit in particular.
Monmouth Golf Club extends a warm welcome to visitors and visiting societies and hopes to make your day at the MGC a memorable event. We are proud of our reputation as one of the friendliest golf clubs and you are assured of every assistance from our staff and members. Monmouth Golf Club is, however, a member’s club and we are ever mindful of protecting the interests of our members and, for that reason, visitors are r
