| Notes | Pembrokeshire’s traditional description “the land of magic and enchantment” perfectly captures the qualities of its outstanding coastline. From Tenby in the south to Cardigan in the north, the 186 mile shoreline falls within the Pembrokeshire National Park. Milford Haven was developed in the late 18th Century, by Quakers from Nantucket as a whaling port. Later described by Lord Nelson in 1802 as being “one of the finest harbours seen” it developed in the early part of the 20th Century as an important base for the fishing industry. The old harbour was featured regularly in the 70’s Onedin Line T.V show and later hosted the start of the 1991 Tall Ships Race. Now it is an expanding marina with over 200 berths whilst still being used by trawlers. The Marina features restaurants, bars, a gallery, and museum. Within an easy stroll of the apartments are shops, a supermarket and town's railway station. The town has a sports centre with swimming pool and Theatre. |
